Hello everyone,

I recently bought a 2006 Tacoma, TRD with the 4.0 L 6-speed manual. It originated from the US, but the guy I bought it from imorted it years ago.

It only has 30,000 miles, stock tire size and no lift. I put a new air filter in and changed to synthetic oil when I bought it.

I am only getting 16-17 mpg... I hear guys talking about 22-23.

Where can I start looking for the cause (besides a slightly heavy foot)?

Are there any links you guys have?

I have a 2000 Taco and I put in a cold air intake and a body spacer. I am not sure how much more mileage it gave me but it increased at least by 5mpg.

The lowest I've had is 17 on my 09, the best 21. Try keeping your foot out of it for a tank of fuel and see what you get. Makes a differance with mine.
