I've got a 1988 Toyota pickup 2.4L 22RE with a very noticible miss at 2000-3000 rpm. It rarely misses outside this range and won't miss if I'm constantly accelerating through 2000-3000 rpm, but if i hold anywhere between 2000-3000 it misses bad. I've read that a sloppy timing chain affects the ignition timing and can cause a bad miss(?). Anyone have any suggestions? thanks

do you hear any weird noises coming from the engine, like a chain or dragging noise?

thats the timing chain/belt. Miss firing can be caused by coupe of issues, from faulty o2 sensor to fuel pump to timing chain

looking for parts for that car is gonna be hard some websites like these should have them not sure thou:
