For awhile now, I've been hearing a clicking/clanking noise coming from the front end when I do a hard turn to the right. This happens usally when I'm parked and have to turn my steering wheel all the way to the right when backing out or pulling foward. My mechanic say's that my CV boots don't look cracked or anything but they are not too sure if it's the Axels or not yet.

I did a google search last weekend and found some people stating that it's the boots or axels. Has anyone else had this problem? if so, what was the issue and the fix?

If my mechanic say's that the boots are good and the axels are ok, should I replace them anyway just in case?

It sounds like a bad CVC joint. This is the "universal joint" type connector inside the boot. It can go bad even if the boot is fine; it just wears out. Checking it shouldn't be too difficult. Boots are usually not replaced unless they show signs of tear, cracking or dry-rot. When a CVC joint is replaced, the boot is replaced with it. Good luck. Hy
