In a 2005 Matrix the Maintenance Needed light came on. Is there a procedure for turning it off or does the dealer have to do it?

if it came on, you should consider having your oil changed, it comes on every 5,000 miles to signal your oil change service, if you got it done at an independent shop recently, then take it to a dealer and they can turn it off for you

once that light comes on and after you get an oil change just leave car turned off with key in the ignition and press and hold the odo button, while holding turn key on but not starting the car and on ur odo you will see 5 dashes going away once there gone ur light will turn off...
