Does the 2001 Tacoma (4 cyl.) have a cabin air filter or A/C filter or something that filters the outside air into that cabin and where is it located if it does.

And IF it does, where can I find one. I have been noticing that my A/C and heater air sort of smells funny and I tried running the heat for a long time to get rid of any mildew during the summer but had no luck in changing the smell.

Serious answers appreciated, thanks in advance.

No cabin filter, however, you can purchase a can of Frigi-Fresh and spray it in the air intake located where the cowl is under the windshield.

There is no cabin filter; but if you take the glove compartment out (2 screws) you'll see a black box; which in turn you have to take the screws off;... you cannot remove the entire box because that is where the a/c lines are coming in thru the firewall. i just replaced my ac compressor and evacuator that's why i noticed that dirt can accumulate inside that black box; if you can stick a vacuum hose in there and clean it out that'll work a bit into getting rid of the "smell"
