03 Corolla-s 139,000 miles, automatic,no abs. I was coming out of a parking lot and there was a slight dip, as soon as I hit the dip, I hear a grinding sound and the car would no longer move. I tried shifting through gears
and got the grinding sound through all except neutral. I have a friend trying to help repair, he was pretty sure it was the front pass. side axel, we replaced, teeth were a bit worn but nothing major and still grinding.
Replaced the hub bearing assembely on that side, still noise and no drive. I had him feel the front right and front left while I shifted through gears and now you can feel vibration in front driver side tire. When I turn the
tire manually i hear a clicking sound, when the tire reaches a certain point. The clicking is only at that point in turning and smooth the rest of the way. I'm figuring it the axel or hub bearing in that side. Prior to this
happening I did hear a clicking sound in the front drivers side tire, I though that it maybe there was a piece of something stuck to the tire. I only heard this noise when driving below 20mph,thinking now that this is the root problem. If anyone has had this happen to them and knows what the cause is, please feel free to chime in. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
