Hello, I recently bought a 2007 toyota tundra a couple of months back..The sticker says that I should (epa) be getting 16 & 20...I'm struggling to get 12 or sometimes 13 mi to the gallon in town..I only have 3700 mi and I baby the truck, so I'm wondering if the just needs to be broken in some more..I talk to others who have new tundras ,not as new as mine, and they are getting much better gas mileage...

Anyone else having this problem???

Thanks
Beau Benoit

Are you sure your not stepping on it???

Man that sounds a little shady right there. If it becomes a problem take it to the dealership and have them check it out. Make sure you don't have any aftermarket products in when you do though otherwise they'll be quick to pin the blame on that.

Dirty air filters, fuel filters, and fuel injectors make your engine work harder to generate the same amount of power at the wheels, thus wasting more of its own energy and reducing mileage. This is probably the most common cause of gradual fuel economy loss because, unless the problem is severe, computer controls can usually compensate such that the average driver doesn't notice any issues. This is why it's important to stick to maintenance schedules, even if it seems unnecessary at the time.
