El, the moderator of this board was selling full gasket sets for 18RGs. But he is going to be off the board for awhile. RA21TE27 also sold full gasket sets, so they can be had from different sources. And if you can't rebuilt the carbs you could always replace them with Mikunis of Webers. Check Ebay.

well, thanks for your help, but honestly, I KNEW someone would say that,my question is why?The loss of clamping pressure on the deck? There is plenty of it for a slight increase in compression and no forced induction and plus a 18Rg has 9.7 to 1 stock CR.So,by putting 9 to 1's in there I would be defeating the purpose,The ideal way of raising compression ratio is to MAKE THE CC SMALLER NOT THE DOME OF THE PISTON BIGGER,I was wondering what anybody else has milled off to raise comp,I am thinking of taking off about .030".

Only the early 18RGs have 9.7 compression. none of the others did. so this means the 18RGU,RGR,RGE didn't have 9.7 compression. The ideal way of > raising compression ratio is to MAKE THE CC SMALLER NOT THE DOME OF > THE PISTON BIGGER,I was wondering what anybody else has milled off to > raise comp,I am thinking of taking off about .030". you should only mill a RG head to keep it flat. it's getting to hard to find good RG heads. Thats why I tell you to get new pistons. If you really want a good performing RG I would get some good carbs, cams, elec fuel pump, 10.5 or higher comperssion, and a good street port job on the intake side, 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 exh this should get you a 14 sec early celica.
