After a lazy Sunday evening and wasting a solid hour of researching the topic of what the old hilux are worth, and coming up with absolutely nothing, I decided to ask for your opinion. I like what you guys and gals are doing with the forums here. This place seems like a nice community.
So I have owned a 1971 Toyota Hilux for a while now and was wondering what they are worth. Just as a side note I am not trying to sell this truck. In fact I’m pretty sure I wont sell this truck. Maybe not ever. So back to the good stuff: 69k original miles. Its very straight. Everything works including the original radio. Body is very straight. Paint is all original and although fading slightly, the truck looks good. There isn’t any rust on it and is now a 3 owner car. The Second owner bought it used in 1973 and since then he kept a handwritten book of every single thing that was ever done to the truck, including oil changes. He only sold it because he was 90 and couldn’t drive anymore. Every time I take it out of the garage it gets the look. You know what I’m talking about. The “double-take” She don’t go fast, but when you drive her, you don’t need to :)
If anyone has ran into a similar vehicle, or owned, sold, or even just wants to give their two cents. Please do.
Keep on truckin
