I have a 1982 pickup right now, its 2WD and i wanted to get a 3.5 lift for it. The only problem is that most shops only offerbody lifts for it. My friend has an 85 and everything is pretty identical. i just wantd to know if there is any difference between the two suspensions. And if so what is it? Control arms too small, not enough clearence etc etc.

The susp on those 2WDs are the same AFAIK.
I think there might be some susp lifts out there for it. Try Revtech and Fabtech for starters.
You could always crank the t-bars a bit and do AALs or blocks in the rear for an inch or so of lift.
