Hi all, my name is jason and i am the proud new owner of a 1983 toyota sr5 2wd pickup. I just wanted to start this forum to get some ideas on stuff i should look out for, while owning this truck. I have had it for a month now and have already done quiet a bit. First i sanded it all down and it is now a primer black, which i think im gonna leave it be as it is. The rear end has airshocks installed to carry a heavier load, plus an extra leaf. I just finished up reinstalling the exhaust system, and just placed in a new alternator....which was a ****. lol But like i said im new to the world of toyotas so anybody know somethin i dont, let me know haha. I would like to get this truck a little higher off the ground also, anybody suggest something? Thanks all, have a great day

Higher off the Ground.

The quickest and easiest way is to simply buy big honkin' tires. But be aware....2 drawbacks. Worse gas mileage, and your speedometer will erroneously indicate a slower speed. Ergo, if it says you're going 60, you're actually doing over 65.
