It seems like every year I run into problems with the cooling system. I replaced the radiator a couple of years ago and have gone through a few thermostats. I noticed the other day that my heater stopped working. It works occaisionally, but not as hot as it should be and then it goes cold again. Normally this means either the thermostat is stuck or the coolant/antifreeze level is low. The radiator is full and the engine isn't over heating. I was planning on replacing the thermostat, since that's the easiest and cheapest thing to do, but when I got home today I thought to feel the front of the radiator and the hoses to it and the whole thing is COLD. The top hose is hot and the top of the radiator is hot, but the bottom hose is lukewarm. Sounds like the thermostat, right? All but the whole radiator being cold and the engine not overheating. I'm still going to replace the thermostat and check back tomorrow. I really hope it's not the radiator again.
