I have a 1986 corolla with the stock motor in it. I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get a "new" engine or if it would be cheaper to find out what happened and fix the one I have. The engine that died was the origional in the car and had 230,000+ miles on it, it was well worn. I have most of the knowledge and the tools to do all of the work myself just can't find any sites that are able to give me good price estimates. Any info that you can give me about refurb, rebuilt, or just plain used motors would be greatly appreciated.
