I think I have a very common problem from what I read everywhere.... BUT I'm hoping to get some recommendations from people with expriences like mine. My 89 Tercel has a mid RPM Hesitation. I have good compression on all cylinders. It does smoke when first started. (valve seals) New items include, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor. All vacuum line are connect OTHER than the one that goes to the EBCV. EBCV is disconnected from vacuum and electric. This is how it was when I got it home. I tried hooking the EBCV up, to both eletric and vacuum and the car will barely run. I disconnect the vacuum and it idles and drive okay, but has the hesitation. The hesistation seems to get worse as the car warms up. The electrical plug on the EBCV seems to have no effect if it is connected or not. I have performed the tests recommend on the EBCV and it passes. I have ran 2 cleanings of the engine with SeaFoam, and neither has seem to helped. Seeing how this has the Venturi Carburator, I know there can be a lot of variable to look at before replacing or rebuilding that.
Any help or direction is much appreciated. Thanks.
