Hi everyone. I have a 1989 Toyota Camry and the fan motor stopped working. I can press in the ac switch and hear the compressor kick in buy no blower air. Is there a way to check the fan motor switch or bypass it all together? Don`t know if it is switch or fan motor.checked fuse its ok. Allreplys welcome. Thanks again

It's either your motor or the coil that regulates power to the motor. They are cheap to replace, but usually the fan will only run on high.

If the fan is not blowing at all...I would bet on it being your fan motor. Also pretty cheap to put in (buy a Haynes manual).

Thanks Pongo. Maybe the Haynes manual shows wiring diagram on blower. Strange thing blower works on all speeds for weeks then out of the blue engine will stall with AC running and fan motor will stop working for days or even weeks.

The manual will show how to connect the new motor. Two wires, on a connector, it's exceedingly simple.

However, do I understand that your motor is blowing...but only when the AC is "off"? Your symptoms were not clear. Or is it your engine that stalls when you turn the AC on...because that is clearly a seized AC compressor.
