Just helped my sister buy a 91' Tercel. 1.5Liter 5 speed. The car as 160,000 kilometers on it.
Just started this morning where the idle won't kick down. It will idle really high. No tach, so I have no idea how many RPM, but noticeable.
Moving the throttle sensor doesn't change much. It will stumble down for a half a second, and then come back up to high idle. Any ideas? New sensor?

6.5 did you ever figure it out? having same problem. car revs up and down on cold start, only in park. once she warms up it goes back to normal operation, does not rev up and down in park.
