I know that the '92 Prizm is a rebranded Corolla. My question is whether the GM factory service manual for the Prizm is substantially the same as the Toyota manual?

Yes it is. The only real difference between the two vehicles is cosmetic, such as interior appearance
( trim work, seat and door materials, badging) and exterior ( taillights, grille, slight variation in
shape of sheet metal) but under the skin...it's the same car. Information provided in the Toyota manual applies to the GEO version. I also suggest that you try to obtain a CD of the factory repair
manual, ( on E-Bay) I did, and found it most helpful. I used to own both a '91 & a '92...great cars

Impala is % correct. Same car other than minor cosmetics. your corolla manual is the same as the prizm manual. Trust me
