Hey guys, new member here, just got a 1992 Tercel from my girl that has 255,000 miles on it. The car runs great, lots of power and pep. The only issue is the idle surges a lot (800rpm-1700rpm) only when it is cold. It just surges really fast from a slow normal idle to around 1500rpms to 1800rpms. It does this until the engine reaches full operating temp. then it idles like a dream, no problems. The car has full power, has never stalled or not started. From what i know it has new timing belt, alternator belt, cooling hoses. I did a full tune up this morning, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, and air filter. Plan to do brakes all around, fuel filter, drain and fill on tranny. Clutch is solid also. This could be a pretty good work car if i could get this idle thing figured out. I don't have a book on the car yet but plan to get on online tonight. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Eric
