Hi,

My daughter has a 1994 toyota camry station wagon and the power antenna doesn't work. When I have the radio on and turn the engine off, I can hear a noise at the antenna (sounds like the motor is attempting to retract the antenna). Any thoughts on this? Should I just leave it alone (the antenna works), or is it a simple fix (assuming I can source the parts).

Thanks,

Rick

I sort of have the same problem with my 1996 Camry and am thinking of calling a car stereo system installation shop to see what they think. Please post if you find out the answer.

I had that with a 93 camry wagon. Until I disconnected the power to the broken power antenna the motor would continue to run if the radio was turned on when I turned off the ignition key, running down the battery. You can readily replace the antenna yourself once you get the cover panel off. Good luck.

Can you give a bit more detail on replacing the antenna? I have the same problem, where is the "cover panel" I assume inside the rear hatch somehwere?

Thanks for any insight, my antenna actually broke and I don't have any reception.
