Sorry to tell you that the only thing you can do is replace the speedometer/odometer, or.... simply ignore it. If it were my car, based on the high mileage and the cost and difficulty of replacing the speedometer, I would go to either a Toyota dealer or a local speedometer repair shop and get an estimate of the cost of replacement and a statement from them indicating the problem and the present mileage. The reason for the statement is that, in many states, when selling a car, you have to cerify that the odometer reading is accurate (and its actual reading) or that it's broken and has been certified as such. In addition, I don't know what the inspection laws are in Georgia, but in NY, during an annual car inspection, the actual mileage has to be interred into the system. A broken odometer here would probably fail a car on inspection. Check the laws in Georgia. Good luck. Hy
