I have a 96 Tacoma 2.4L rwd. 5spd. manual. The tranny is not wanting to go all the way into first gear or 3rd it will shift into 3rd if I hold it (push forward firmly). The shifter feels like its going into like the first notch of the gear, normally you can feel 2 notches when you put it in gear, feels like its just hitting the first one. Actually all the gears feel not right?? I havent pulled the top of shifter yet, just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Maybe shift rod is bent? Or end of shift rod is worn or something fell off end of shift rod? This is our only transportation any recomendations would help, thank you, Patrick. Also it has 140k.
