I have multiple questions on this subject.
Is this a common problem? If it is a common problem should I look for a after market vendor for a better quality replacement? If so which vendor offer a quality low cost part? How do I repair the rear leaf spring?

Check out downey-offroad.com or wheelersoffroad.com for some good springs. Make sure you get the ones that are correct for your truck. 95.5-97 Tacos had shorter rear leaf springs than the 98-04 Tacos. I would check out the ones over on Downey first, they make some quality stuff there.
