I was researching a problem online related to my Tercel and thought this was a Great site so I registered. Hopefully I can contribute some ideas from time-to time but for now I have a question. I just bought this 1996 Toyota Tercel for cheap, reliable transportation. It only has 61k miles and its a great car for being 13+ year's old. Anyway, yesterday the DRLs quit. The headlights still work fine in regular mode. My shop manual for this vehicle indicates that the DRL relay might be bad. The engine block has numerous relays and I think I've figured out which one contols the DRLs, but I can't figure out how to remove the relay to test it. I thought it would just pull out but it won't budge and I don't want to put too much force on it and break something. Is there a trick to removing these relays? Also, is it possible that the DRL function might have been inadvertantly disabled and simply needs to be turned back on? Thanks.
