Is there a quick fix for releasing the CD changer in my '97 Avalon XLS? Or do I need to take it in to the Toyota Service Dept?

I hit "eject". When the cassette came out, I didn't think anything about it when it only contained two CD's (it can hold three). I loaded three new CD's and put it back in the radio. Apparently there was one left in there somehow and the CD carrier will not go in or "eject". All I get is a whirring motor noise, then it stops.

The radio still plays fine, but I'd rather listen to my own CD's (I'm 60 yrs old and like all the oldies music).
Can anyone help? Thanks

I waited a couple of days but nobody came up with any suggestions, so I figured it out myself.

When the 3 CD carrier got stuck, it was sticking out about 3 inches from the face of the player. Feeling around underneath the carrier, all the way back by the player, just where the carrier enters the player there is a small trip lever. Pushing the lever in or pulling it out doesn't do a thing --- but if you move it slightly to the left (toward the steering wheel) it releases the carrier and you can pull it out and away from the player. With the carrier out, you can look inside the player and pull the CD or (as in my case) the two CD's out.

Once they are pulled out of the player, re-load the carrier with three CD's and place it back into the player. Everything should work fine now.

Just remember that little trip lever (for the next time ---- if there ever is one!)

I hope this helps someone who might have the same problem in the future.

Thanks for the tip. I'm sure that will come in handy for lots of people. Even if you don't have that type of changer, it helps to remember that the switch doesn't necessarily go the way you think it should. They have to keep us on our toes some how, right?
