Hello,
I currently own a 1997 Toyota Previa All Trac Van.

It has an unusual leak right around the driver side motor mount.
I pulled one of the bolts and the hole was full of oil.

I though maybe it was running down the oil sending unit buy the oil filter but its not.

I sealed one of ther motor mount bolts and it helped some but it is still leaking.

It is not leaking from the oil pan.

This is a strange place for it to have a leak, its like it runds down the drivers side brace where there shouldnt even be any oil.Very strange.

Does anyone have this or had this problem with their Previa Van?

perhaps there is a leak in the servo steering system, check the servo steering oil level, from time to time.
and se if the oil level is going down. I'm having this problem.

sorry for my english i'm from sweden but i think you understand me.

There's an additive you can get that's suppose to patch any minor problems. You might just give it a shot and see what happens.

The most usual place for an oil leak is the front-main-seal.

I don't know your vehicle specifically, but if the motor is side-way-mounted if it's FWD, then the front-main-seal is on the drivers side. And this "sounds" like where you're seeing the drips.

This is minor (as with all of my vehicles leaking) and I would simply leave it. It'll get worse over time (years) but it's rarely really-bad.

You need to pull your left tire, remove your fender-wall, get a pully-puller, remove the main crank pully, and get a seal-puller and replace it.

This is a 6 beer job (lol) and not beyond the skill of the home-mechanic.

This sounds like you need a lot of special equipment in order to do. Is it something with a basic tool box can handle, or would you need a workshop to pull it off?

You really only need 2 special pieces of eqpt.

A pully-puller (or gear puller) and a seal-puller.
The pully puller should be about $15 and the seal-puller only maybe $5.

The rest you should have, like a ratchet set to use in conjunction with the pully-puller.
