Hi, I'm new here and I'm interested in brakes for an old toyota corolla (1998) that is new to me. The brakes seem to have a long pedal - they work its just the feel is somewhat suspect to me. I have an 07 Prius and if I used the brakes on it like I have to on the corolla I'd be thru the windshield! The pedal seems firm and short with the car off - I start it and the pedal gets about 2 inches longer. Its still firm but maybe a bit less so. The front pads look fine, I have bled the fronts just to try something. I haven't yet looked at the rear shoes. I'm thinking that it could be just the characteristic of this car's brakes or I may have a problem (its gotta be one or the other doesn't it). If it is a problem what could it be?? Maybe the vacuum assist? How to test for this? So if anyone has any recommendations/suggestions I'm all ears.
Thanks, JohnNH
