My '99 limited has a problem with the fuel gauge. it is stuck on full regardless what amount of fuel is in the fuel tank. I just took my car to the dealer to have the oil changed with the gauge saying I had 3/4 tank of fuel. When I picked it up, the gauge said full. No fuel had been added to the tank and the dealer said the gauge discrepancy was not related to the oil change. I left the dealer and put 3 gallons of fuel in my car. Any idea where to start looking for the problem? Fuse? Connections? Thank you.........

It sounds like you lost the connection to the tank.
Are you sure that the gage was working well before oil change? Did you use this garage often or was the first time? Usualy people battle to get the filter out and mess around with the cabling.
Check the connections of wires going around the filter area. Pull gently the cables from the plugs in case of a accidentaly disconnected wire was put back again (the "wasn't me" story).

Hello I am a Toyota tech from Collingwood , Ontario, Canada. Your problem lies at the sending unit. There are TSB's (technical service bulletins on it . First try is the guage cluster, Which will clear digital odometer to zero. Second thing was sending unit in tank. The latter is approx $125 Cdn.
