I am about to replace all 4 struts and springs on my Son's 1999 Camry 4cyl. Regular suspension. I would like to know if I must replace the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts and nuts, or can I reuse the existing. If anyone knows the specs for the bolts please let me know and I'll go find them (the dealer was USELESS). I would like to replace them, but I want to know if I must.

Since the holes are not slotted, I assume that there will not be a gross misalignment when I'm done.

oh yeah...I need size of the rears as well.

Thanks

Are they not usable now? Why are you thinking about replacing them if they don't need to?

I have not started the job yet. Just trying to make sure I have all the materials I need before beginning.

I've done a few strut replacements and I've never replaced mounting bolts for struts. Granted, I haven't done the stuts on my Toyota, but I don't imagine they're any different from other makes. That may be why the dealer is no help - simply because he's never had to replace them. You could call Toyota technical services. Their number should be in your owners manual or look for it on-line.
