gday just wonderen if anyone else has a 2.8 diesel hilux and knows how to make them perform better. ive had mine for a yr now and still cant get it to sit on 100kmph and the engine has only done 175000 so it hasnt had alot of driven. any suggestions?

Don't know much about diesel, givin I live in the US, but if it's got trouble accelerating or hitting top speeds, you should look at maybe a clogged exhaust. I'll ask the Master Tech at my work for any more suggestions. By the way, thats 175000 km right?

Any smoke? Check the injectors, they might need attention at that mileage. Also check the air filter, fuel filter etc.

The 3L engine can easily 100kph, Yours definitely needs attention.

dude if ur looking for a bit more power for a standard 3L motor i started off with replacing the standard exhaust with a 2 1/4 straight through system i got mine done for $200 an anouther $180 for extracters an that made a big difference an a high flow air filter a hiclone an a snokel can all give u a bit more power to

My mates got a 2.8 diesel pretty much stock. Struggling on 100 is about normal unless you do an exhaust job like knowlesy said. These engines are notorious for being asthmatic so getting air flowing in and exhaust flowing out can do wonders...

Also, turbo kits are getting cheaper and cheaper :-)
