I recently bought a 2000 Previa without roof rails. I ordered an original Toyota roof rack through the dealer and it turned out to be a 3-bar rack with P/N PZ403-R8610-00. When trying to fit it, I found out that the installation instructions are absolutely insufficient. Cost me 283 euros...
The clamps which should grip in the top of the sliding door opening on one side do not fit. Only the screw hard point fittings fit reasonably.
The clamps that go in the space between the top of the rear window push the window outwards when the clamp on the roof bar is tightened. Also, these clamps do not secure the fittings at all. The roof bar can still be moved easily by hand.
Anyone have experience with this?
