I have a Toyota 2001 Avalon XLS. The sub woofer in the rear decks is blown and I need to remove it. I have removed the stop light assembly on top of it. Removed the 4 bolts that hold it in. The assembly around it is to big to just pull it up through the cut out that is in the rear deck board on top. Is there a secret in getting it out of there? I am looking for instructions on how to get the assembly out so I can remove the speaker an make an adapter for a quality replacement speaker. I now have pulled the lead to it so it does not rattle anymore. Any help would be appreciated. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

hi responding to your question on removing your sub woofer. Its a tight fit,so you have to play with it to get it out.Try sliding it back and lifting out from the back. You could also try pulling one corner out first then work your way around.
