I just drove the 2002 with NAV and without paying attention, I noticed the brakes aren't as over-sensitive as the 2001. Has anyone found this to be true as well, or is it my imagination?

P.S. I have the 2001 and now the 2002 Blue Moon Pearl with CC and NAV and I'm willing to sell either. Any takers?

We have a 2001 and a 2002 and have not noticed any difference. However by only driving Prius, I think we no longer have the problem of going from non-Prius to Prius breaks, resulting in smoother driving. George

(There's a different brake switch for a CC Prius and a non-CC Prius.) When installing CC on a 2001 (retrofit), you have to do some alignment of how many spiral twists you do when screwing it in, which will vary how quickly the plunger registers that the brake has been depressed (turns on brake lights, cancels CC, etc.).

I'm guessing that your 2 Prius probably have slightly different settings (off by one turn or two)...

I noticed when test driving the 2002 at Carson Toyota a few weeks ago that the brakes weren't as sensitive (Though more sensitive than what I'm used to) as the 2001 I test drove 4-5 months ago. Either way, one could get used to it.

Sure beats my old '76 Diesel mercedez 240D with a 1:1 vacumn booster and 4 wheel disc brakes - had to really push that mother to get it to stop.

Here's another vote for the 2002 brakes. I just got my car yesterday, and the brakes seemed less touchy than on the 2001 demo I drove a few months back. Man I like this car.
