Does anyone know about pricing and options for the 2002? My dealer has been trying to get the information for me for a week and a half now. I am specifically looking for new options (cc, side airbags) and what new colors will be offered.

My dealer says that a 2002 can't be ordered until July for delivery Sep=Oct. Two new colors...shades of blue. Options are cruise control, Nav system and side airbags<br><br>joelsg@...

My dealer just called me today at about 6:30 (eastern time) and told me he could put in an order hopefully tomorrow for the 2002.

Well, I got another call from my dealer this morning. He told me he got an E-mail saying the site will be up tomorrow (6-1) for ordering the 2002...

Folks,<br><br>Just FYI... Toyota will not begin to manufacture the 2002 Prius until mid-August. Nobody will get an '02 until mid-September... <br><br>I ordered my '02 Prius on 7/6/01, got the dealer e-mail on 7/9/01 and got my 'your Prius will be here in 4 to 5 months' e-mail from the factory on 7/19/01. I am scheduled for 11/2001 manufacture month.<br><br>Russ

Bob, they won't be building the '02 cars til late, late August. 2002 models won't be arrivig at all til October 2001. I really do not expect any Prius 2002 cars to physically hit the port at Long Beach til October.

Priusman (Toyota's national Prius program manager) has previously indicated that the assembly line has a vacation appox. the first week of August, and that other than that, production is continuous from MY2001 to MY2002.<br>(No stop and retool). I don't believe he explicitly said what part of August 2002 production would start. However, he did say that orders from the first few days of June, as well as TRAC requests from dealers would be filled from August production. Then orders through about June 18 would be from September production.<br>See messages 6294, 6683, 6835.<br><br>I believe we have seen that Prii typically start showing up at dealers the month after production. However, there was at one time a sentence on the Toyota web site that said something like "You can see the 2002 Prius at your dealer in August". Don't know if that sentence is there now, but if true, it implies that some August production may actually show up at some dealers in August.<br><br>Anyway, all that is to say that based on this several month old info I would not be quite as pessimistic as Californiabeanies. I expect the first 2002 Prii to show up in September, with a very small possibility of a few lucky ones appearing in late August. Unless, of course, there is new info.<br><br>Burns<br>LOWCO2 - NH

Burns: Thanks for the reminder concerning Priusman's earlier posts! I'm hopeful that I'll see my 2002 US Prius no later than the end of Sept. 2001.<br><br>BTW, I ordered my 2002 Prius on 6/1/01 and yesterday (8/2/01) I received a _2001_ Prius Owners Manual in the mail from Toyota. just a post- script on 2002 arrivals- The lady who handles TRAC for us here on the east coast says that they received fewer than expected TRAC orders- she hints that we can expect them to be slightly ahead of schedule. Apparently a few dealers relinquished (or lost) their certification to sell and service. my replacement TRAC is a silver with "everything". Beleive me I'll post as soon as i see it. I think all you CA. folks are ahead of us anyway (35% of sales) I wouldnt be surprised if we got ours a couple of weeks later.
