My 2002 Sienna was done 90,000 mile check today.
I got one recommendation after the standard maintenance.
"Will Need Both Front Lower Control Arms, They Are Getting Loose (Parts $336.08, Labor$166.04)"

I would like to ask three questions:
(1) Normal operational condition can causes this replacement?? Is there any chance of defect parts? (There is no recall related this)

(2) Service desk lady told me that this is worn out parts and no immediate danger for driving next few months. She said that I can change them in the next oil change. Do you think this is not dangerous for a while?

(3) Do you recommend replace any related worn out parts during the replacement of both arms? Such as rubber bush....

Thank you very much,

I am surprised that the entire control arm needs to be replaced. Usually it's just the bushings and / or ball joints.

I would get a 2nd opinion...honestly.

Argh, I hate when I go in for routine maintenance and they come up with all these other things that need to be fixed!

Seriously, get a second opinion.

Who did the inspection for you, the dealer or an independent mechanic?
