How do I remove the fasteners that are holding the plastic retainers that go over the speaker.

metal fasteners that have no head is what im talking about.

if this is a repost, sorry, direct me to the correct thread.

Sears have the Extreme Grip Wrench Set they are made to help assist you when you have hard-to-remove fasteners that can't be budged. I use them all the time. It may help you with your installation.

If you're putting new speakers in you can drill those old fasteners out. I did that with my 05.
