All,

Before bringing it into the shop, figured I would ask if anyone has seen/resolved this problem.

I recently tried to shift my 2004 into 4 wheel drive by pushing the 4WD switch. The indicator light flashes green and the 4 4WD lights illuminate. When trying to switch back to 2WD, the indicator light continues to flash green, and the 4 4WD lights go out. After shutting it off and restarting, the indicator light flashes green and the 4 4WD lights illuminate as if it is trying to go back into 4WD mode again.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks selffixer, I sprayed a little WD40 on the actuator "arm" and tapped (very lightly) it with a hammer. After starting up, I heard the "thump" of it dropping out of 4WD and back into 2WD.

Your post saved me $55.
