I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna LE van . It has approx. 88,500 kms. The rear passenger door actuator exploded sending plastic bits flying forward. My wife was sitting in the front passengers seat with her feet outside the van. She had reached backwards and pressed the close button for the rear side door when it suddenly exploded. At first we thought someone threw a rock at the car as that what it sounded like. We found bits of plastic on the ground and the cable had broke. The cable appeared rusted and frayed where it broke and the plastic cable covering was all brittle and cracked along the whole length of the cable. She was hit in the face with the plastic bits. Luckily she had sunglasses on. The parts hit her face hard and stung her. Hard enough that they could of hurt her eye if they would have hit it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Omg...please go to your nearest Toyota dealer and report this. If you don't get any satisfaction, call the main office in Toronto.
This is a workmanship issue. Clearly, on a 2 year old vehicle this is not normal failure in accordance with engineering stats. Ask specifically for a "good will" claim.
