Hi all,

I bought a 2005 corolla (basic model), planning to keep it bone stock as a daily driver. But over here winter is coming around and I need to look for some studded winter tyres. The car came with 15" rims, but I have some 14"(steel) with the same bolt pattern that I'd like to use (more money for tyres that way).

Question is, would they fit? It looks like it, but the local dealer says that anything but 15 or bigger will get hung up on the (front) caliper once the brake pads begin to wear thin and he should know, right?

185/14/70 would give pretty darn close the same diameter as the current 195/15/60, so there shouldn't be any speedo mismatch, or wheel well interference.

I'd be grateful for any insights.
