Guys
My Dad got a new Hiace (well newer than his 1998 one :) ) , its a 2005 2.5D.

The previous owner installed a retro stereo and speaker system, but since we got the van the "Heater is now working" was my Dads common complaint.

I had a look this morning and what I did notice that the light behind the heater settings is not working, also the blower for the heater/cooler does not work until you put the blower on setting 4.
For setting 1, 2 and 3 does not blow out anything.

This happened in my wifes Ford Focus and it turned out to be the heater resister plug and this sorted the issue.

But of course I dont have a clue about the Hiace and cant find an answer anywhere

Thank you.
Aidan

Yep, it will be the heater blower resistor. This is a common fault on all cars.

Take the glove box out and in behind you should be able to see the resistor module screwed into the side of the heater
box. Take it out and I am sure you will find it has fallen to bits. Replace with a new one. Second hand ones are rarely any better than
what you already have.
