Hi

Just dropped by to say hello to any Matrix crazy folks like me. I'm really enjoying my new (since April 2006) Matrix XR.

Over the weekend I tried calculating the fuel economy for the car and got the following:

travelled 191.3 km and needed 20.665 litres of gas to fill the tank back to the full mark. Can anyone tell me what this means relative to the advertised fuel economy for the car?

Thanks

b

Mileage is stated in L/100km, so it is 20.665 divided by 1.913 = 10.80L/100km. I don't think that is very good but you should average it over a few consecutive fill ups. I think it should be around 8 or 9 L/100km.

For those Americans (like me) 8 or 9 L/100km is approximately 30 mpg which isn't that bad. I am getting around 35 mpg in my 08'. (Which is better than my 99' Fulls Size Chevy P/U, which was 15 mpg)

Please take it to the authorised Toyota Service and have it computer checked. Keep in mind we are still in winter season our gas still oxigenated. Normal city driving it should be around 25mpg with auto transmission.
