I was recently quoted 250$ @ a local dealer to change my front break pads. I felt the price was a bit high. The pads cost 80$ I believe. Of course labor would pay for the difference.

My question. I am used to changing break pads on previous vehichles . Is there any difference in changing the 06 break pads? Or should I just pay the 250 and get it over with. Especially when im left with 10% of my from break pads left.

Thank you in advance

I don't own a Rav4 nor have I worked on one, but it takes me about 10 minutes per wheel to change pads per wheel. I would get someone else to look at it. $250 sounds high.

$250 sounds a bit high but not for a Dealership. What's your time and anxiety level worth? Atleast you know the dealership will do it right and warranty the work.

I'll pay $250 if I can't find a much better deal before I have to replace two rotors.

Wow, scary that you guys are changing brake pads without machining the discs.

That's probably why the mechanic seems so dear, he's probably doing it properly.
