Hi everyone:

I am new to the Camry forum and in need of your assistance. My 2007 Camry Hybrid was in an accident with a deer and a fair amount of damage was done. The sensor for the ABS was broken off. The sensor for the ABS is part of the main engine wiring harness and costs about $2100 plus labor to repair. My insurance company says that the harness does not need to be replaced, rather just a PIGTAIL soldered in place. I want to know if:

1. Can this/should this be done?
2. Is this legal as it is part of the ABS/braking system on the car?
3. Will this void the manufacturers warranty?

I am fighting with my insurance company to have them replace the entire harness as opposed to just "putting a bandaid in place, as the car is only 2 years old.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance everyone.
