Here's a serious review on the 2007 FJ Cruiser. And when I say serious, I mean every detail, from design to performance and features, driving tests, history, etc.
The only disadvantage is that it's 6 pages long, so you might wanna grab a coffee :)

My review of my new FJ Cruiser is that I think it would climb a tree if the tires had claws!!!

I am just back from doing some over grown logging trails in WV and found that it climbed everything I had guts for. Also I was told I made it through some holes that "real mudders" did not get through. All with the factory rubber.

I will say the real draw backs would be the 15.5gal tank, and also the view while changing lanes. The little round mirrors I added, came real handy.

I carried two adults and two teen kids for the 6 hour drive each way and made it without a problem. We got home, wiped out the mud from inside, put the carpet back in, took it through the local wash and it is ready for work. This thing is really easy to cleanup.

How do those doors work for you? When I tried one out at the dealership, they way the back door opens seemed strange. I guess you get used to it, but any experiences one way or another?

I was not a fan of this car...was not against it either, but read the reviews. It seems like a great vehicle...will have to check on out in person.

But I think you were asking about the two side doors that open to the rear. They make it very easy for someone to get into the rear seat, but they are very hard to close from the inside. Also they can not be opened from the inside until the forward door is opened. In a crash I could see this as a problem. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

One last note is that the rear cargo door can not be opened from inside. Once again in a crash this may be a problem for anyone in the rear seats that may need to get out in a hurry.

Sorry I get my left and right backwords sometimes. The rear cargo door opens to the left.

Interesting to hear about those back passenger doors. When I looked one over, I of course didn't notice that. I rarely have back seat passengers other than the dogs so it wouldn't bother me. But the design did.
