Hi everyone--

Just realized I posted this in the welcome forum board by accident--sorry, so am posting it here:

I have a 99 Corolla VE with 112k miles gets about 30mpg overall and the car is just beginning to burn oil and needing more serious maintenance on it, but as part of my employment, I am a courier driver where I must deliver anything from small envelopes to a couple of 100# bags. My corolla took the brunt of the weight carrying some of these heavy bags, so I am looking at trading it in for a 2008 Rav4--maybe start of leasing it then finance it later on because I am still repairing bad credit marks in the past 12-16 months...

Question--anyone have a 2007 or 2008 model and what are thoughts on it? Please let me know if you have the base, sport, limited, etc edition and any pros and cons of each would help greatly.

I am looking at getting the RAV 4 sometime within the next 3-4 weeks...

Thanks for your help in advance. smile.gif

Hi Skylar
I have a 2007 base model with a V6 engine, 2 wheel drive. It is a very basic model, but has everything I need in daily transportation. I dont know if your looking for a 4 cyl or 6 cyl engine, but I will tell you that the fuel mileage that you are used to, will be absent with the Rav. My overall MPG average is 24. I have gotten as high as 28 on the highway, and as low as 21 a couple of times. If you are planning to use the little truck for work, fuel economy is a very important factor. I dont believe that the 4 cyl engine gets much better mileage then the 6 cyl.
I have owned mine for about 10 months now, and I have approximately 13000 miles on it so far. I have had only one warranty issue, which was minor ( an interior plastic panal came loose). I got the tow package option, and have towed a small trailer with no problems. It has been a great little car so far.
Another place you might want to check with Rav owners is www.rav4world.com. Hope this helps.

The RAV's a great SUV. You'll be impressed with how much cargo it can handle. It's also a comfortable commuter and from what you said, you drive around a lot. Another plus is the gas mileage which is good to boot. My 2007 is a V6 4wd and I have almost 30K rounds on it. No real issues at all. It's almost time for a new set of tires though.
