Drives: 2008 corolla CE
Location: USA
I have a 08 corolla CE. Now in the book it says maintenance should be done at 5000 miles. I have 4500 miles on the car and I got the maintenance light.

My question is, is it normal to get the light 500 miles before the recommended?
Also should I get the maint right away? I need to drive another 300-400 miles before I can get the maint done and I don't want to damage the car.

Please advise.

It'll be fine. The light is usually a "maintenance minder" light to remind you that you need to service they car. Have you read the owners manual yet?
