i have an 86 2wd pickup that i have the clutch out of right now as it was worn out.
looking at the flywheel, i have a discoloration (hot spot??) from where the rivets were wearing on the flywheel.
there doesnt seem to be any ridges from this and the flywheel runout is ok.

i am trying to do this as cheaply as possible, and this vehicle will be used maybe 2-3 times a month for short garbage runs.

does this flywheel necessarily have to be machined? or could i get away with just clutch kit replacement and put it back together??

all comments and opinions welcome.

You don't have to, but for ~$40 it's a good idea.
