I have an offer to place a great condition 327 from a early 60's Corvette into my 65' FJ40. The work will be done by a very talented and reputable individual, but my question is: Is this too much engine for my 40, and will it be a good match for my 3 speed toyota tranny? I currently have a 286 V8 in it, but the engine is very old and pretty much ready to be junked. The people who did the conversion on it, did a poor job, and it now has a thrown rod to boot. so does anyone have any experience in the 327 in a 40????
