I recently purchased a 1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4. I'm really digging the truck so far but have a quick question. There is a fan running under the glove compartment. I don't really hear it when I'm driving on the interstate but I definitely hear it when I am stopped at a red light. All of my front air controls are turned off but the fan still blows. Does anyone have any idea what this fan is and why it runs no matter what? Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike, Look behind your center console. You have seperate heater switches for the back seat. That fan is probably on. Krys

It's your rear heater. There is a switch and temp control beneath the rear cup holders. Turn it off and the fan stops running. Enjoy your new ride! Anthony Message: 1
