Hello All, thanks to all who have helped me generously wiht my 4ws warning light problem. I have finally managed to check the diagnostic problem code. It was 32...... Now i need to remove it and check it out. I reckon that the shaft has seized up cause i have not used the car for a long time. Coudl any one tell me how to access the back up motor in the ST183 convertible 1991? Many thanks Gti_driver

IIRC (cos i haven't done it myself....yet) it's fairly straight forward, just a matter of taking off the protective shield underneath, disconnect the electrical connectors and about 4 or 5 bolts and out it pops. >

Yep that sounds about right,... coat up the bolts holding the motor assembly  in place with a releace agent for an hour or so first..  I snapped one of mine taking it apart... Still worked alright with 1 bolt less holding it on :o)
