Hello all. I'm a new Brian on the list, in Northern Virginia.

Took delivery of my Prius on Saturday; still having trouble keeping my eyes on the road!

?: When I did the test drive in September, I thought the Prius had 6-way seats (i.e., adjusted up & down). The salesman said no, they have always been 4-way. But I checked my printout of the Toyota web page and, sure enough, it said 6-way in September but 4-way in January. Has anyone seen a 6-way seat?

When I did my test drive in July, I was expecting 6-way seats due to the brochure or web site but only discovered 4-way. Then on this group others also mentioned it was only 4-way. So I guess it was a planned feature that never made it into the US model. I think maybe in the brochure that was one of the features listed as possibly not available early on (like blue, side air bags, and cruise).

Robert Snyder
NJ-PIKACHU

It is 4 way in Park, when you put the car in drive or reverse, it becomes 6 way. :)

In whatever message it was, ontariocanadaprius said,
> It is 4 way in Park, when you put the car in
> drive or reverse, it becomes 6 way. :)
OK! The head-rests make it 8-way and don't forget the "swivel" function; turn the whole car in the US - actually available in Japan as an accessibility option.

Whoo-Hoo: 10 whole ways!
Bill Powell
(Prius: Just Drive It!)

Alright already, so ultimately you can find ways to expose your seats (Prius) to all 3 lateral and all 3 rotational degrees of freedom, for 12 "ways". Add the seatback and headrest adjust for 4 more and you're up to 16-way seats. Maybe they just misprinted and lost the "1". Moving the seat forward and back in the car is the same as moving the car forward and back, so you can't get to 18-way that way. You guys are so silly!

Robert Snyder
NJ-PIKACHU (who's silly?)

Thanks all. Maybe I'll just go out and get one of those monster-truck lift kits for the suspension. ;-)

Bruce & Ed, I'll look for you on I-66, in the HOV lanes! Mine is aqua.

--Brian
